Apple’s MacBook Air M3 doesn’t reinvent the formula — it perfects it. After three months as a primary machine for writing, video editing, and software development, the conclusion is clear: this is the best laptop for most people at any price point.
Performance
Day-to-day tasks are instantaneous. 4K video export in Final Cut Pro, Lightroom catalog imports, multiple Xcode simulator instances — all handled without thermal throttling or fan noise. The M3 chip outperforms last generation’s M2 by roughly 20% in sustained workloads.
Display
The Liquid Retina panel is bright (500 nits), colour accurate (sRGB 99%), and the 2560×1664 resolution makes text beautifully crisp. The 15-inch model is now the obvious choice for anyone who found the 13-inch screen limiting.
Battery Life
We measured 16.5 hours in our real-world mixed-use test — the longest of any laptop we’ve tested. You will not run out of battery on a full day away from a charger.
