Netflix remains the world’s largest streaming service, but the past two years have brought significant changes: the end of password sharing, new ad-supported tiers, and a fluctuating content library. We spent a month evaluating whether it remains worth the subscription.
Content Library
Netflix’s original content is the strongest argument for its subscription. Series like The Crown, Squid Game, and Stranger Things have no equivalents on other platforms. The film library is thinner than it was during the DVD era, but for original programming, Netflix leads.
Streaming Quality
4K HDR Dolby Vision is available on the Premium and Ultimate plans. Quality is excellent on supported screens. The Standard with Ads tier caps at 1080p, which is adequate for most viewing.
